I Was Born This Way

So party planning has been a part of me for as long as I can remember. I love to celebrate anything and everything! I remember a friend of mine once told me that any news she had to share with me, she knew I would be genuinely thrilled for her every time. It's true! I love to celebrate any and all successes, achievements, milestones...pretty much anything that merits even a hint of celebration! As I write this there is still a "celebrate" banner hanging on my wall just because! Haha.

The first memory I have of party planning was my 9th birthday. I had it ALL planned out! My friend Bethany was bringing a chest full of dress up items, five girl friends were coming to spend the night and I had a whole agenda from start to finish. I specifically remember the day of the event, setting the table with paper plates, gift bags, and all the decor I could talk my mom into helping me set up! I must have asked her a million times, "How long until everyone arrives?"

I don't remember much of the party itself because honestly that wasn't the best part of it for me. It was the planning! That is true to this day. I have been planning party after party from that day on. Any excuse to celebrate a friend or loved one's special day, I'm on it! My sister-in-law's Mystery Dinner 30th Birthday Party, my Grandparents 70th Anniversary Celebration, many Team Nights and non-profit events, out of the box kid's birthday parties, and most recently my nephew's graduation party and niece’s sweet 16! It is all truly a joy for me.

The best part about it for me is showing my love to the recipient of the celebration and making every single guest feel so special! That is why I named my business Truly You. I never want to throw a party that isn't curated specifically for the person it's intended for. I want the guest of honor to feel like I read their mind when they walk into the space. Like on those really good home makeover shows when they walk into their newly remodeled home and say, "How did you know? This is exactly what I wanted!!"

That's what I want for my clients! I want each and every event to be exactly (and more) how they pictured it! When that happens, each guest can feel it too. It's a truly magical experience and it's all created out of love! Love for the planning, love for the creativity of it all, and most of all love for the people I am creating for. Even if I have never met you, believe me when I say, I have the capacity to create an event out of love for you as well!
